30+ Holiday Craft Tutorials
30+ Holiday Craft Tutorials

It’s almost here my friends – the holiday season! In the crafting world we get to start a little earlier so that people have time to make stuff. I have several decoupage tutorials on my blog for Halloween, Christmas and the general seasons around there, so I thought I’d share so that you could get started now. I’ve got a few projects in mind already, so as I finish I’ll be adding to this collection (hence the 30+). Enjoy, and for more Mod Podge holiday crafts, click here.

I received several emails asking me how I made the brown flowers on my Fall Wreath. Sorry for the delay, but I’m finally posting the tutorial on how to make them.
I’m going to show you two ways to make these. I’ve placed them side by side to show you how each flower will turn out depending on the method you use.

How To Make Spring Wreath in 30 minute

Spring Wreath
Spring Wreath

My poor front door has been bare since Christmas.

I usually have a different wreath/decoration to go with each change of season or holiday. During the last trimester of my pregnancy, however, all seasonal decorating went out the window. But now I’ve been cooped up in the house a bit, with the recent arrival of baby number four, and there’s still no spring in sight in Wisconsin.

So a new spring wreath was in order! And one that I could make in thirty minutes or less (you know, before baby wakes up!).

Today I spent some time with the little ones building a popcorn wreath.  It was fun project but my little helpers ate more of the popcorn then they did actually placing the popcorn onto the wreath.  They soon decided playing with their toys was a little more interesting.  So while they played I continued with the wreath.  Of course, I got an occassional visit from the little ones as they grabbed a handful of poporn and then continued playing with their toys.  In the end, it was a fun little project and now we have a fun wreath hanging inside the house just in time for Christmas.

The basis for this wreath is learning how to make shabby chic flowers. Turns out it’s pretty easy to do and looks absolutely fabulous when it’s done. And of course you can make your wreath in any shape you want, I just happen to be in a loving mood.

Paper Wreath (DIY)

Lately I have had wreaths on the brain.  But I always think the ones I see at stores are a little bit unattractive.  I still super love the boxwood wreath that I bought at Target at Christmastime.  The sad news about a real boxwood wreath is that you have to keep it inside because if it gets too hot or cold, it will turn brown and that’s ugly.  I was trying to think about how I could make one that wasn’t so sensitive.   I debated using felt for leaves but that seemed too complicated so I thought I would see what I could do with paper.  I determined this would work for me because my front door is behind a storm door so it doesn’t need to be waterproof.
