How to Crochet a Heart

Hi, I am Iuliana and I am so excited to share my first contributor post with you guys. I have enjoyed following Linda’s creative genius for awhile now, and  only hope that my projects will also be of value to you guys.

Today I want to share a tutorial for Mini Crochet Hearts, that you can use to make a garland, or whatever strikes your fancy.

For this project you will need to know  how to crochet a basic single crochet, and double crochet. If you are not sure about a certain step, there are really good crochet videos out there, which is what I consulted in my first days of my crocheting adventure, or you can go over to Hip2Thrift for more crochet tips and tutorials.

For this project I used the following Supplies:

- Worsted Weight Yarn (these crochet hearts are quite small, so you can use scraps of yarn)

- H crochet hook (you can make the hearts bigger or smaller simply by using bigger or smaller size crochet hooks)

- scissors

How to Make Easy Crochet Heart Pattern

There are a lot of crochet heart patterns out there but a lot of them work in round using a variety of different stitches and the "magic ring" which I know a lot of you struggle with. Fear not! This heart pattern is very simple, working solely in rows of single crochets. You could use them as an appliqué on a hat, scarf, for a hair clip, garland, gift topper, or sew two together and stuff lightly for a puffy heart!

How to Make Decoupaged Paper Mache Heart

Pretty patterned papers combine to make this lovely heart that will look pretty hanging from a doorknob or on the front door this Valentine's Day.

What you need:

    Paper mache heart with handle
    3 different Valentine scrapbook papers
    Mod Podge
    Sponge applicator
    Scissors
    twine
    hot glue or instant grab glue
