Crochet Sampler Afghan - free pattern

Crochet Sampler Afghan
Crochet Sampler Afghan

Started this project to learn new patterns and techniques, so this was perfect. Crocheted one square a month, so it was not a speedy project - just fun. Have now completed every square and having enjoyed the experience want to repeat it, the blanket is smaller than I expected so will crochet more squares, keeping the same colours but changing the lay out.

So in my search for big needle blankets, I found a blanket titled "6-Hour Afghan." I wanted to make a big needle blanket of my own, using left over Lion Brand Wool Ease yarn from my sampler afghan and various other projects. Is it possible to create a blanket like this in 6 hours? See my time log to see how the project goes.

This is more of a 9 hour 32 min blanket. See my time log to understand the real time progress of this project.

Fun with Colors Afghan "Parcheesi Afghan"

The Parcheesi Afghan is a variation on the traditional log cabin quilt in which 6 log cabin squares are flanked by striped strips. I wanted something light and not too big, ready to be tossed over my shoulders or lap while watching TV or knitting.
It can easily be resized by choosing a heavier yarn or by adding more squares and strips.

Another wee friend is coming in January and this blankie will help keep him warm.   This is my Textured, Random Striped Blankie.
Random stripe pattern generated using the Random Stitch Generator, beware it is addictive.  It took me a good two hours to get a pattern that I loved, and then I still tweaked it.

The finished size is, 36" x 42".

The Blackberry Salad Striped Baby Blanket pattern was originally written up for a baby sized blanket, but of course, it can work for everything from a dishcloth to a king sized bedspread! This past week I worked up one in a size that’s great for a throw, wrap, or lap-ghan. Or maybe an accent/decorator blanket. Whatever you call it, it all worked out.
